Where are you going? Have you stopped to think about what that means? Or are you just going through the motions? Your life, your very existence has a purpose beyond the bare essentials of life, death & taxes.
Everything you do (or don't) has an impact on your community, the Church and the World. The mission has already been laid out before us: to spread the Good News; and we have each been uniquely gifted to respond to this mission. There is no denying that there is a need in our world for hope, for love and for transformation. There’s no ignoring the fact that there is a growing need in our Church for young people to respond courageously. And perhaps there’s no escaping that still, small voice in your own heart that urges you to more. The calling is there – will you hear it and will you respond?
Vocation Brisbane is an initiative of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, forming young people in their journey to realise who God is calling them to be. Our team is passionate about leading, forming, resourcing and journeying with people as they seek God’s call. Our work is to help each member of the body of Christ realise their part in the bigger picture.
We're constantly requested around the Archdiocese, province, and country to talk about the gift of vocation. We'd love to chat about coming to your school, parish or event and bring our passion for the message of Jesus, the love of God and His deep calling on our lives.
We believe in resourcing the Church with materials which can lead young men and women closer to their life calling. From prayer cards to information brochures to whole books on vocation, we stock everything needed to stir up the heart and form the mind of a discerning young person.
Vocation Brisbane believes in fostering a culture of Vocation in the Brisbane Archdiocese and in the world. We do that by creating spaces of hospitality, faith, prayer, and community so that young people may be opened to a God that loves them and calls them. Vocation and her calls are deeply planted (Cor 2:7) in the basic Christian understanding of the lived reality that God is a deeply loving Creator who united himself with our humanity in Jesus Christ so that we may know the Way, the Truth and the Life (Jn 14:6).
