Fr Morgan Batt was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Brisbane in November 1991 and has served in a number of our parishes including Browns Plains, Grovely and Enoggera. His parish experience has also extended to a time when he served in the Archdiocese of Hobart  as Parish Priest of Richmond and Port Authur at the time of the 1996 massacre. Upon returning to Brisbane, Fr Morgan was appointed to Australian Catholic University for six years before he then enlisted in the Australian Army Reserve in 2002 as a chaplain. After three years in the Reserve, Fr Morgan was asked to enlist as full-time chaplain and served in Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville as well as being deployed for international missions in the Middle East and East Timor.

In 2010, Fr Morgan was recalled back to the Archdiocese of Brisbane and appointed to the University of Queensland. He now serves as the Director of Vocations and Canali House, as well as Director of Pastoral Formation at Holy Spirit Provincial Seminary. Fr Morgan is also a Magistral Chaplain in the Sovereign Military Order of St John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta.

In addition to the the academic formation he received during his time in seminary, Fr Morgan has also had the opportunity to study in Spain, Belgium, Palestine and the United States.

Administrative Officer

Rosalia joins the team this year as our new Administrative Officer. In March 2014, Rosalia left windy Wellington, New Zealand where she had lived for 23 years to relocate to Brisbane with her family. During that time she worked for the Archdiocese of Wellington in the area of Pastoral Services for six years. Gaining her Diploma in Pastoral Ministry equipped her to fulfil her love and passion to serve the Church through her involvement in parish life until she was appointed with her husband to serve as Catechists in the Samoan Chaplaincy for 10 years. Rosalia has expertise in co-ordinating Sunday school programmes, retreats and trainings; she is also a Marriage Educator and was a Spiritual Guide for the Samoan community in Wainuiomata. After five years working for the Ministry of Education (government work), Rosalia is grateful and blessed to be able to come back and serve the Church through her work with Vocation Brisbane.


Vocations Officer

Adam grew up in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, graduating high school at Trinity College in Beenleigh. Since then Adam has served in ministry for the Catholic church, serving four years with NET Ministries Australia and having also spent some time in formation at the Holy Spirit Seminary. He has completed a Certificate IV in Leadership and Ministry, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Theology at Australian Catholic University. He is passionate about writing reflections, articles, poetry and music which help others to make sense of their journey. Adam is responsible for promotional work in secondary schools across the Archdiocese, as well as coordinating key projects like Quo Vadis weekends and VocAdventure. He also plays an important role in mentoring young men who are further along their discernment journey towards priesthood.



Vocations Officer

Patrick has been connected to a number of key youth and young adult ministries in Brisbane since moving here 18 months ago. Recently married, he is studying a Bachelor of Education at the Queensland University of Technology. Patrick is responsible for engaging with youth and young adult ministries and events, overseeing Our Shout at the Port Office Hotel each month, and  developing the presence of the Vocations Roadshow across the Archdiocese. He also supports our ministry in secondary schools.

In 2015 we welcome to our team four part-time Field Officers. Their role is to connect with Deaneries, Parishes, Youth Groups, Schools and other groups in order to create, support and promote a vocations culture at a local level.
